Sunday

In the same way , the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

Our week

Well first, I know it is Tae Kwon Do not karate. That is just more trouble to say when I talk about it and not as catchy as a blog title! The kids correct me every time I say it.

This week at TKD, they had tip testing. E got all three of his. B has two but she knows the third form now and will be able to get that one on Monday. B was worried at first when she only got one tip on Monday. She thought they would kick her out like she failed. When she found out yesterday that her friend who is a brown belt only got one tip this week also, she felt so much better. Seeing a friend in the same situation helped more than anything mom had to say!

Luke is still in Austin at a class and he has been sick all week. This morning he finally went to the doctor and found out he has strep throat. They gave him a shot and sent him back to his room until tomorrow. I hate that he is not home where I can take care him when he is sick. BUT I am glad he won't be contagious when he gets home!

We have been very lucky so far dodging sickness around here! I hope that continues for the rest of the winter. I know some people have been so sick this year!

The grade school is collecting for Haiti relief. K took 3 dollars and one penny of her own money to put in the jar. She is cute. She knows we are giving to Samaritan's Purse and Compassion International and she wanted to help too. But she said another kid in her class brought 3 dollars. I wonder if she brought the same plus a little more on purpose? Glad she is learning to help others, I just hope that was not just trying to show someone else up! LOL We may need to work on that...

Karate kids

I am so glad I figured out how to make the iphone videos works on the blog! Now I can share tae kwan do class with you! This is E but B is next to him--I can see her in the mirror and then at the end. I just think they look cute! They started right before Christmas and they are doing pretty well.

My favorite thing about the class is that they have to learn home rules for tae kwan do students and they cannot move up unless both the parents and their teachers agree that they are doing everything at home and school that they are supposed to! There are 7 home rules-like respecting parents and other grown ups, be kind to siblings, keep the house clean, and do not interrupt adult conversations! I love that.

Enjoy!

Third post in one day

Yeah, 2 in all of January and now 3 in one day.

I got the home computer to accept the video file and it looks like this is actually going to work. So here is the hokey pokey. I had to shorten it a lot for it to work. Really no one cares except the grandmas. And don't listen to my singing!!

Too late request them for Christmas

Well I had some pictures on the iphone, so until I get some better ones here is K with no teeth.

This last one was at a birthday party at the roller rink last week, doing the hokey pokey. I have a video that is so cute! I am trying to find a way to convert it to a file the computer will recognize. The iphone will send it to youtube but that scares me--I need to research that!

And no I still have not eaten or showered.....

Nothing much to say right now...

Sorry! Not only have I been very silent lately, this morning I have been playing around with the blog design. I think I have been driving someone crazy who has been on my site. Sorry about that :)

As I said, yes I know I have been very quiet lately. I have been very busy and Luke has been out of town again. My computer time has mostly being doing PWOC work and I have been neglecting the blog. I need to take some pictures of the kids and post them. Mostly I have to get a picture of K on here with no front teeth. She is adorable--she has three front ones missing all at once! I also need to get tae kwan do pictures of B and E--that is something else I have been busy with!

Well as neglectful as I have been, I still have to go now. I woke up and started on PWOC stuff immediately. I have not showered or eaten anything yet today! I have to go!

And to the reader in California, I am so curious, are you sure you don't want to leave me a message and tell me who you are???

Haiti Relief Effort

I donated to Samaritan's Purse this morning to help Haiti, then I read Big Mama's blog post and saw that she gave some other options for donating. I copied her info for you if you can help. You can just click on any of these highlighted links and it should take to directly to where you can donate online.

You can text “disaster” to 90999 to give $10 to Compassion International's disaster relief program. They will be working directly with the local churches who know where these families live and will provide immediate relief to them. You can also click HERE to donate.

If you’d prefer to give to the Red Cross, you can text “Haiti” to 90999 to donate $10 or go directly to the Red Cross website to make a donation.

I don't need to say anything else, except every little bit helps.

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

Resolutions

I was going through some papers that K brought home from school this week and found her new year's resolutions list. I think it is for handwriting and English or something. She got 95/85. I think she should have gotten 100, even with the spelling errors.

Here is her list:

I am going to play my DS morr in 2010.
I am going to eat morr in 2010.
I am going to play morr in 2010.

Now those are some good resolutions. I don't like video games myself, but that sounds like a whole list that will actually make it through the year without one being broken!!

Scenes from Christmas

Happy Birthday Jesus

Being lazy

It surprises me how hard it can be to get back to blogging. I know I am not running out of things to say. I just need a push so it's back to the list...

The weather in my neck of the woods: 37 degrees, raining, and nasty looking. We have a winter weather advisory today.

I am thinking: that I am glad to be inside where it is warm and that I don’t have to go anywhere today.

I am thankful: that I cleaned most of the house yesterday when I took all of the Christmas decorations down. Today I need to clean the bedrooms and maybe move some stuff around.

From the kitchen: Well B heated up a frozen hash brown and it smells really good… Today I think I may make a turkey pot pie.

I am wearing: my Christmas pajamas from mom. Like I said, going nowhere and being lazy. I will shower in a little while and put on yoga pants and a sweatshirt!

I am reading: nothing. I need to be reading a leadership book for PWOC but I have only read one chapter so far. I may read some more of that later today if the house is not too loud!

I am hearing: the kids playing Wii. E is being bossy telling K how to do everything. B is on the couch playing her DS.

One of my favorite things: well of all the Christmas presents, I am loving these new video games. We got a Wii and then after Christmas, Luke got a PS3. We put them both in the living room so they would be family things and I love how everyone is together and playing. There is not as much fighting as I expected.

A few plans for the rest of the week: not much. Need to go to grocery store tomorrow. Staying home for New Years. E has a follow up drs appt for ear infection Friday. Mostly just playing games, cleaning at times, being lazy at times, enjoying family and sleeping late.

On my To Do List for today: change sheets, cleaning kids’ rooms, moving E’s furniture.

On my Prayer List: friends and family, our church.

Scripture for today: Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
